GARDA VETTING

Garda vetting is a mandatory background check in Ireland by the National Vetting Bureau for individuals working or volunteering with children or vulnerable adults.  This involves checking for any criminal records or relevant history. The purpose of this is to protect children and vulnerable adults. The process is governed by the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012–2016 and requires the consent of the applicant.
